Harold Pinter’s The Caretaker is one of his best known and respected plays. Through the story of two brothers and a visiting tramp, The Caretaker deals with a number of issues including the blurred distinction between reality and fantasy, family relationships, and the struggle for power. It also touches on the subjects of mental illness and the plight of the indigent. With a careful balance of comedy and tragedy, this play has intrigued audiences since its first performance. It seems fitting to be staging the Caretaker during its 40th anniversary year.
This is a Green Room Studio production.
